Mike Brown and the Lakers...

So I have heard the news that the lakers will be hiring Mike Brown as the successor to Phil Jackson. This leaves me with one very obvious question: How will he and Kobe Bryant mesh? We all know Mike Brown and Lebron's relationship ended up being strained and seeing how Kobe had preferred Alderman or Shaw as the new coach, it leaves me curious to see how well they will work together....

My theory on the Maverick's success this year...

The Dallas Mavericks have taken the Western Conference by Storm. After surviving a 6 game battle with Portland (who I am convinced has given Dallas the stiffest challenge so far), dismantling the two time champion Lakers in an embarrassing 4 game sweep, and their latest escapade in game 4 of the WCF against OKC, rallying from 15 points down in a little more than 4 1/2 left to win in overtime and take a 3-1 series lead. I've been contemplating their success and my reasoning for their epic playoff run is this. Dallas is not a young team anymore. Jason Kidd and Dirk Nowitzki are getting up there in age as is Jason Terry and Shawn Marion. They don't have many years left to win a championship. With their championship window closing, they have seized the moment and this just might be the year they win it all....It truly has been a weird NBA playoffs this year and the Mavericks success reflects their desperation for a championship while the team they have now is still effective.
